BIOM+ Sensitive
Sensitive skin is often described as a personality trait, as if some people simply have skin that "reacts to everything." But dermatological research tells a different story. Sensitive skin is, at its core, a state of microbiome dysbiosis: an ecosystem thrown out of balance, leaving the skin unable to regulate itself, defend against triggers or recover from irritation.
This is the insight that drives BIOM+ SENSITIVE by Ericson Laboratoire.
Skincare built on microbiome science
Your skin is home to trillions of microorganisms; bacteria, yeasts, fungi, that together form your skin microbiome. When this ecosystem is in balance, it acts as an invisible shield: dampening inflammation, maintaining the lipid barrier and protecting against environmental aggressors. When it falls out of balance through stress, harsh skincare routines, pollution or hormonal shifts, the skin becomes reactive, red and difficult to soothe.
Most skincare for sensitive skin addresses the symptoms. BIOM+ SENSITIVE addresses the system.
The range is built on three scientific pillars. First: marine exosomes, biological nanoparticles derived from marine sources that restore cell-to-cell communication, accelerate tissue regeneration and reduce inflammatory responses at the source. Until recently, exosome technology was primarily used in regenerative medicine. BIOM+ SENSITIVE brings it to daily skincare.
Second: a microbiotics complex of pro-, pre- and postbiotics that actively rebalances the skin microbiome and supports the neuro-immunocutaneous system, the intricate interplay between the nervous system, the immune system and the skin that is characteristically disrupted in sensitive skin.
Third: targeted active ingredients including salvianolate and niacinamide, chosen for their evidence-based ability to neutralise redness, reinforce the lipid barrier and even out the complexion over time.
